La Herencia del Pueblo: Mexican Heritage Project Photographs

Our new digital exhibit of over 300 photos from the Mexican Heritage Project photographs in our AHS Library and Archives collections in Tucson is now available online at the Arizona Memory Project!

New Acquisition: Lescher Spittoon
This spittoon is one of our latest acquisitions donated to the Society by Ms. Shirley M Brinkman, former Secretary to the Lescher and Mahoney Architectural Firm. The spittoon sat next to Mr. Lescher’s desk from 1930, when the Lescher and Mahoney firm moved into the Phoenix Title and Trust Building, until he passed away in 1957. Mr. Lescher’s firms designed some of the most iconic buildings in Arizona, including the Mohave County Courthouse in Kingman, Globe High School, St. Mary’s High School and the Palace West Theater (known as the Orpheum Theater).
